My 3rd Dine Out meal of the season! Service was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant has that “Canadian” vibe with the warm candlelights and wood. Food wise everything except dessert was enjoyable.
*I forgot to take interior pictures again! Sorry for being a bad blogger T.T
$30, 3 course dinner
Squid Panzanella, harissa, compressed cucumber, radish, green goddess, arugula
A lot of salad and not a lot of squid but the bread underneath was soaked in the flavour of the dish, not soggy (still had a bit of crisp) and was wonderfully flavourful.
Buttermilk Fried Chicken, garlic ginger aioli, cabbage slaw with nouc cham
Crispy light batter, with tender flesh on the inside, perfect! Also went well with the sauce.
Pork Hock Carbonara, creme fraiche, broccoli, green peppercorn, pea tendril, pangratatta, parmesan
Very cheesy, creamy dish, just the way I like my pasta. I just wish they used spaghetti as I’m not a fan of rigatoni when it’s carbonara.
Flank Steak, medium rare, black beans, chimchurri, crispy cauliflower, caramel pickled jalapeño
Surprisingly the star of this dish was the crispy cauliflower, super flavourful and addicting I could eat a whole plate of these. On the other hand the steak was well-seasoned but tough.
Sponge Cake, blueberry compote, whipped cream
Didn’t feel like the dessert was restaurant level, presentation or taste wise, it wasn’t bad just not restaurant level. The dessert itself is not very sweet which my friend liked but personally I prefer a bit more sweetness with my desserts.
Boston Cream Jar, pie crumble, aerated chocolate
Better than the other dessert but still not restaurant level. Very, very sweet and overwhelming which I personally don’t mind but I can see most people finding this to sweet, my friend included.
