Another Dine Out Vancouver post! Unfortunately it is over but I hope this review gives you an idea of the restaurants vibe. Service was great, stylish interior, food wise they had some great dishes but inconsistent quality. I’ll definitely be back to try more though!
$30 for 3 courses
Group of 3 gets, 2 appetizers, 1 salad, 3 mains, 3 desserts
Hot & Sour Soup of Halibut Cheek, oyster mushrooms, thai basil, fried garlic, lemongrass, galangal
I enjoyed all the components of the soup together, unfortunately it was too salty for my taste.
Steamed Mussels with Lemongrass + Thai Basil, salt spring island mussels, nah jim sauce
Plump, fresh, and lots of meat. Beautifully steamed, comes with a appetizingly spicy sauce!
Grilled Tuna Salad with Green Mango, lemongrass, cashews
The server said we had to get a salad so we did, but honestly I hate salad….the tuna was also room temperature which didn’t make it any better.
Green Curry of Braised Beef, wild ginger, fresh baby corn, pea eggplant
The beef was so so tender, and the curry had the perfect amount of spice! Definitely one of my favourite dishes for the night. Only thing was that the rice was a bit hard for my taste.
Stir Fried Black Pepper Hanger Steak, fresh baby corn, thai basil, wild ginger
This tastes exactly like the beef at Chinese food court places, so maybe just stick to eating it there?
8 Spice Lingcod, caramelized tamarind + palm sugar sauce, 8 different thai aromatics
Let me start off by saying I hate fish (my parents ordered this) but this fish is different. Beautifully crisp on the outside, with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. I absolutely loved this and highly recommend if it’s available on their regular menu.
Black Sticky Rice, coconut syrup, pandan tapioca, thai fruits
The sticky rice wasn’t sticky, and personally I didn’t like the combination of the pandan tapioca with the rice. The coconut shavings on top also didn’t help, no added flavour just gave it an unpleasant hard paper like texture.
Banana Roti, condensed milk ice cream
I couldn’t taste the condensed milk in the ice cream, that said it was still good. The roti wasn’t bad, but it lacked sweetness for me.
